The Butler Intermediate & Senior High Orchestras, Rock Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra are under the direction of Katie Black.

Katie Black is a graduate from Seton Hill University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (2015). She received the PADESTA Award for Outstanding New String Teacher in 2019. When not teaching, she performs freelance with the acoustic string duo "The Jive Daisy" and performs for weddings and various special events.
